MacKay Ancient Tartan Kilt
MacKay Ancient Tartan Kilt
MacKay Clan is a Highland Scottish clan which has its roots in the deepest north of Scotland, especially in the area of Sutherland. They are named after the Gaelic word MacAoidh, which means son of Aodh (Aodh is the typical Gaelic first name). The clan was very powerful in the Highlands in the north and the chiefs of the MacKay's had influence over large tracts of land. Although their political influence has diminished in the 17th and 18th centuries, MacKay's have a rich cultural background in Scotland and their offspring across the world.
Color Pattern
Colors used in the MacKay Ancient Tartan include dark seafoam, sky blue, light green, and black that are separated by grayish-black lines that are thinner and run horizontally and vertically. This intricate pattern adds a stylish and elegant touch to the tartan.
