MacGillivray Ancient Heavyweight Tartan – Proud Warriors of Clan Chattan
A warm orange ground, streaked with rich blue and green checks, the MacGillivray Ancient Heavyweight tartan is a strong and colorful design, symbolizing the proud and resilient nature of this esteemed Highland clan.
The MacGillivrays were a loyal clan of the powerhouse Clan Chattan and in 1609 three chieftains signed the historic Bond of Union to solidify their relationship. In 1745, at the Battle of Culloden, their Chief, Red Alasdair of the Cattle, fought bravely and died fighting along with a spring that remains to this day known as MacGillivray's Well, a beautiful tribute to their ultimate sacrifice.
The MacGillivray legacy will not be destroyed by the passage of history, now it's not there anymore. To this day they uphold a legacy of honour and courage which is carried by their Chief MacGillivray of Dunmaglass.
Wear the MacGillivray Ancient Heavyweight tartan and pay tribute to a clan that gave all for Scotland.
