MacGill Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is a bright orange based tartan with colourful checks and woven from 100% Acrylic Wool, made-to-measure products and accessories. The MacGill name is very common in the Scottish Highlands and has been recorded as early as 1231, suggesting a long history of being in Highland society. The MacGill name is believed to have similar connotations of foreign influence, as the Gaelic MacGalbraith means "Son of the Foreign Briton", drawing an interesting parallel with the MacGill name, and the name of this ancient clan is found primarily in regions where outside cultural influence imposed itself on the local population significantly, thus adding an extra layer of historical intrigue to the MacGill clan.
