MacFarlane Hunting Modern Tartan is a traditional tartan of green colour with undertones of red and navy blue.

Gilchrist, a descendant of the Celtic Earls of Lennox was the ancestor of this clan. In 1230 they owned Arrochar and their territory was on Loch Lomondside. Their 4th Chief was called Bartholomew, or Parlan in Gaelic; and the name of the clan is MacFarlane, or son of Bartholomew. They were vigorous and belligerent and made themselves known in a battle.
