MacDonnell of Keppoch Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is a bold orange-coloured tartan featuring vibrant colours of blue and green checks. The Keppoch branch of the great Clan Donald came from Alistair Carrach and they were very determined and showed great resolution in their approach to life. In 1431, some of Keppoch's lands were forfeited and bestowed upon the Mackintoshes and a long and bitter feud arose between the two families. In being, the clan had its share of remarkable individuals, particularly in times of trouble: the 9th chief, who served in the Swedish army and was a notable example of a fighting spirit brought away from the Scottish Highlands by the clan of Keppoch.
