This is a Scottish Clan tartan for the Leslies, known as the Scottish Clan Green.
The Leslie Green Weathered tartan has a light brown background and a strong red overcheck making it an understated and elegant pattern for everyday Highland dress.
Since the 12th century Clan Leslie has been the Barony of Leslie in Aberdeenshire. Sir Andrew Leslie became Earl of Rothes by the grant of King James II of Scotland, and was one of the signatories to the letter of 1329 to the pope asserting the independence of Scotland, a key event in Scottish history.
