Lamont Ancient Tartan Kilt
The Lamont Ancient Tartan has blue, dusty green, black and white colors. The pattern is composed of a harmonious composition of these colors, forming a complex and elegant pattern.
Lamont is one of the oldest clans of Scotland, which traces its lineages to the Irish prince Anrothan O’Neill, and settled in Cowal, Argyllshire, by the 13th century. During the Middle Ages, the Lamonts allied with influential neighbors such as the MacDougalls and MacDonalds, and were crucial to the conflicts in the area. In 1646, however, the clan suffered a terrible blow as most of its members were massacred by Clan Campbell, a blow that greatly affected its influence. Nevertheless, the Lamonts survived, and they represented the spirit of resistance and maintained their old heritage in the Highlands.
