The Innes Red Ancient Heavyweight tartan is the Scottish Clan of Innes.
The Innes Red Ancient tartan is a colourful red base with a bright blue overcheck, making it a bold and striking Scottish design.
Clan Innes have a long history in Moray dating back to the 12th century marked by a charter of the lands of Innes that Malcolm IV granted to Berowald in 1160. His grandson Robert, the 20th Chief, in 1625, adopted the Innes name. The lands were sold to the Earl of Fife in 1767, after which Sir James Innes, successfully claimed the Scottish titles of the 4th Duke of Roxburgh and took the name Ker and became the 5th Duke — James became Earl Innes as the 6th Duke.
