Inglis Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is a brightly coloured green-based ancient tartan with a blue check with red and yellow overcheck.

This name is said to have come from the Scots 'Englis' meaning 'an Englishman'. In the 12th century the Inglises became widespread and were known as far as Kintyre as well as Aberdeen. The name was introduced to France as D'Anglars and in Scotland it is sometimes recorded as Angel.
