Guthrie Modern Tartan Kilt
Guthrie Modern Tartan Kilt
The Guthrie Tartan is a good history with a strong Scottish background. In the 13th century, the Laird of Guthrie, with the legendary William Wallace, set out on a quest to restore the legendary Wallace to Scotland, and he succeeded in doing so with a momentous landing at Montrose, Angus, together. The renowned Chief of the Clan, Alexander Guthrie of Guthrie has been instrumental in the shaping up of the legacy of the clan. The Guthrie Castle, the ancestral chair, proudly rests on Angus obviously in response to the words of heroism and strength that reverberated across generations.
The Guthries were a very loyal clan and were able to demonstrate they could be taken to the battlefield especially in the Battle of Flodden Field in 1513. Yet they made their contributions to war alone. The Guthries were strong believers in Presbyterianism and opposed the Roman Catholic Church, which was their personal example of the unswerving dedication to their ideals. The Guthrie name is related to the devotion of conviction. One minister at Stirling who dared to preach against the religious ideas of the king, James Guthrie, was executed in 1661. Despite the change of hands in recent past, Guthrie Castle remains a monument appreciable to the eternal spirit of the Guthrie clan.
Color Scheme
The Guthrie Tartan is a proud display of a well-balanced mixture of green, red, blue and black colors. Dominated by aggressive use of green, this tartan reminds her of the fertile nature of the Scottish countryside. Tints of rich red and rich blue are interwoven, the symbol of the love of fire and the spirit of rebellion of the Guthrie clan. The subtle presence of black accents adds depth and intensity to the overall design
