Guthrie Ancient Tartan Kilt
The Guthrie Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is the Scottish Clan Tartan for the Clan of the Guthries.
The Guthrie Ancient tartan is a bright blue with striking black and orange checks, a very colourful and bold Scottish design.
Clan Guthrie is named after the barony of Guthrie, near Forfar, in Angus, which is believed to have been named after Guthrum, a Scandinavian prince. In 1299, it was Squire Guthrie who returned Sir William Wallace from France to Scotland. The historic Guthrie Castle was constructed in 1468 by Sir David Guthrie, who was King's Treasurer in the 15th century, near the village of Friockheim.
