Dunlop Ancient Tartan Kilt

Dunlop Clan of Ayrshire, Scotland, a Scottish clan dating back to the 13th century, is named in Gaelic as fort of the hill in reference to the rough terrain of their estate, East Ayrshire. The Dunlop were reputed to be loyal and were firm supporters of Robert the Bruce in the Scottish Wars of Independence, and formed a reputation of resilience and loyalty. A more recent symbol of the clan is the Dunlop tartan that celebrates this longstanding legacy and is a unifying symbol to all Dunlop descendants around the world. The tartan and clan names are today very proud reminders of one of the family legacy that can now be traced back through generations.

Colors and Pattern

The Dunlop Ancient Tartan is a perfect combination of slate grey, red, black and white. Slate grey colors create an impression of calm, and the striking black color gives the impression of strength and robustness. The tartan is punctuated with fiery red accents and white brings in a touch of vibrancy that embodies the spirit of the clan which never dies.
