Alberta (Province) Tartan Fabric
The short and to-the-point version is:
Alberta Tartan Fabric — A Royal Name, A Prairie Legacy
Alberta's history is as rich as the Canadian prairies are themselves and it is the Alberta Tartan that tells it. This iconic tartan was designed in honour of Canadian Vice Regal Consort, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, named after Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyle (1848-1939) and a voluntary organization, the Edmonton Rehabilitation Society, who empower handicapped students to participate in handloom weaving.
Every colour tells Alberta's story: was adopted by the Provincial Legislature in March 1961.
This is Alberta's beautiful forests: green!
🌾 Gold — golden wheat fields and boundless sunshine
🏔️ Blue is a color that signifies pure lakes and expansive skies.
The province's abundant oil and coal resources give it the nickname of 🛢️ Black.
🌸 Pink — Alberta's favourite Provincial emblem, the Wild Rose.
Care Instructions
Dry clean recommended for best results. Hand wash gently in cold water where needed. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Iron on low heat with a pressing cloth to maintain fabric structure and color vibrancy.
