Abercrombie (Wilsons' No.264) Tartan Fabric
Abercrombie (Wilsons' No.264) Tartan Fabric
The Abercrombie Ancient Tartan can be traced back to 1831, documented in James Logan's book, The Scottish Gael. It comes from a small parish of Abercromby in Fife, to which the title and lands were given by Edward I of England to a supporter. This leads descendants to William de Abercromby, and suggests a Norman connection. The Abercrombys of the Abercromby estate at Birkenbog, in Banffshire, also held the title by the late 17th century, being a family which resisted the Reformation and held the views of the Covenanters.
Care Instructions
Dry clean recommended for best results. Hand wash gently in cold water where needed. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Iron on low heat with a pressing cloth to maintain fabric structure and color vibrancy.
